TitleMeasuring and Modeling Gaseous Nitrogen Losses in Irrigated Crops in Central Washington
Project LeaderArmen Kemanian, Ph.D.
Activities
  1. Measure nitrous oxide and ammonia fluxes in irrigated crops (potatoes and maize) in central Washington.
  2. Develop models to simulate these fluxes: nitrous oxide and ammonia form the soil, and ammonia from crop canopies.
  3. Test the models and provide preliminary assessment on the impact of fertilized and irrigated crops as sources of ammonia in central Washington.
