House Creek drains a little over 4000 acres of northern Copperas Cove onto the Fort Hood reservation. Much of this area is covered with impervious surfaces such as buildings and pavement. As a result, during periods of heavy precipitation, the runoff quickly causes flooding at low water crossings, including this one on Georgetown Road. Station 4 is the lead sensor on the House Creek system.
