Station 3 - Cowhouse Creek at West Range Road
Kown as "Crossing 11" this location is considered one of the most dangerous places on Fort Hood. The steep, turning approach makes stream condition assessment by personnel operating military vehicles difficult. Several accidents have occurred at this location. The FAST system now reports crossing depth at this location so that military commanders can issue "no cross" orders to soldiers training in the area. The photo below shows a rescue operation that occurred before FAST was installed.
